I live in Frisco, TX (a suburb of Dallas at the far north end) with
my wife and 3 small children. My daughter, Taylor, is 5 years old;
my son, Trey, is 2 years old; my newest is Ryan, who was born August
2005. We have lived in the Dallas area since 1995. Prior to
that I attended Texas A&M University to receive a degree in
Finance. I grew up mostly in the San Antonio area (born there also),
though we did move to California for a brief period during my last year of
high school. My wife is from Kentucky.
I am a financial consultant with Smith Barney. I run a business
that consults with a small number of families on issues such as financial
planning and investment management. I started my career right after
graduating from college. My wife was a cardiac cath lab tech, until
we began our family. Once Taylor arrived, she changed careers and is
now a full-time mom.
I became interested in simulation baseball back in 2000, when my dad
became involved in another league. He had been through some serious
health issues, and we both enjoyed participating in leagues together as a
way to connect even a little more. The enjoyment and distraction we
both received from it pulled us through his toughest times. I've
enjoyed it even more lately given the serious problems modern day baseball
is now having.
I grew up mostly watching the Houston Astros, though we were casual
fans. My first "favorite" team was the San Francisco Giants, when we
moved out there in 1988 I started paying attention to baseball.
Eventually I became a Texas Rangers fan after moving to Dallas, though the
last few years I don't think I have a favorite team.
I hope VBG continues to be a great league that I can enjoy with my
dad.
