Owner Bio

A Maine native in my 40s (pretty much been here all my life), I live in Kennebunk, Maine with my wife and three boys.  Our twin city is the more famous Kennebunkport.  Famous, that is, if you are a Republican.  Infamous, I suppose, for Democrats.  No matter what your political leanings, George Herbert Walker Bush Sr. is a good neighbor, and up in these parts that goes a long ways.

Cape Porpoise is indeed a real place (part of Kennebunkport) and is a beautiful little fishing village.  There is also a Goat Island off the coast, with a quaint lighthouse too.  Oh, and the Shipyard Brewing Company located within a mile of my home does indeed produce a brew of that name.

In my professional life I own an advertising agency with about 25 wonderful people gainfully employed.  We specialize in creating radio and television ads.  We do okay by ourselves, and have clients from coast to coast.

In my personal life, I have been happily married for 20 years.  My sons are 17,15 and 12.  It is my good fortune that they all enjoy
baseball.  More importantly, they are fine young men and cause their mother and I only enough headaches for us to realize they are normal! We are Red Sox fans.  As recently as a few years ago that meant a self-deprecating joke about long-term suffering and heartache, but since 2004 & 2007, we're pretty much over that now.  I have season tickets to the local minor league team, the Portland Sea Dogs.  They are the Red Sox AA franchise.

As far as DMB goes, it is a great hobby.  I do not belong to a ton of leagues, and am very happy to be a member of the VBG.   It's a great league Although I am a fan of current MLB, I much prefer historical DMB seasons.  Researching and learning about players I never knew about is especially gratifying. Otherwise I would never have the opportunity to know that somebody like Kirby Higbe existed and why he is important to MLB's history.
